With our Northern Grampians Adventure being postponed until March 2021, we are eagerly awaiting the opening of more stages of the Grampians Peaks Trail, which will encompass some of what our original itinerary included, but we still have lots of amazing walks to enjoy if the GPT opening is delayed!
Our Northern Grampians Adventure will commence with all participants meeting on Friday evening at our accommodation at Halls Gap on Friday afternoon/evening before commencing the Northern Grampians Adventure Walk on Saturday morning, and then staying overnight at our accommodation again on the Saturday night, concluding the Walk on Sunday.
We will walk a number of challenging walks over the weekend, depending on how the group fares with each walk will determine the other walks we will be able to complete. Our focus is on safety first so we won’t be rushing anyone to complete each walk, but this weekend will be for experienced walkers due to the amount of rock scrambling and steep hills involved at times.
The walks will range from:
Hollow Mountain Walk 2.2km 2 hour return walk, with a rocky summit which offers views over Mt Stapylton Amphitheatre and the Wimmera
Mount Zero Walk, 2.8 kms return, 1 – 1.5 hours – Views of Mt Stapylton, the surrounding Wimmera plains and various olive plantations provide some of the best in the area.
Mount William, 1.5 hours return – At 1,167 metres, Mount William is the highest point in the Grampians National Park and provides great 360-degree views of mountain ranges and open plains.
Mt Stapylton Loop Walk 12.2km 5-6 hours – When you reach the isolated rocky masses at the top, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Grampians National Park and surrounding plains.
Mt Difficult – 8.8km, 4-5 hours, some of the finest views in the Northern Grampians
